Il Presepe Vivente di Sesto al Reghena/The Living Nativity Scene in Sesto al Reghena

Per rimanere in tema natalizio e per continuare le mie gite fuori porta, il giorno di Santo Stefano sono andata, per la prima volta (mea culpa!) a vedere il Presepe Vivente organizzato da ventun anni presso l’Abbazia Santa Maria in Silvis di Sesto al Reghena (PN).

Oltre al Presepe, in cui cittadini sestesi fanno da figuranti per rappresentare gli abitanti della Palestina all’epoca della nascita di Gesù, alle 17 e alle 19:30 si sono tenute le rappresentazioni “Sentinella, quanto resta della notte?”, su testo di Mons. Don Giancarlo Stival e con le esecuzioni musicali di Marco Anzovino.

Il Presepe è ben dislocato nel parco e dentro l’Abbazia: ammiro tutti i figuranti che sono rimasti fuori al freddo per tutto il pomeriggio per rappresentare pescatori, pastori, fabbri, vasai, etc.

La Sacra Famiglia era invece all’interno dell’Abbazia.

La rappresentazione si è tenuta nel parco, ben visibile sia frontalmente che lateralmente, con effetti visivi e sonori che ben rappresentavano i tempi bui del periodo dell’ambientazione (che potrebbero essere anche i tempi attuali).

Come riportato nella brochure esplicativa/mappa del presepe, la narrazione fa riferimento a vicende effettivamente accadute nella zona, tramite cui viene posta nuovamente la domanda del profeta Isaia (Is 21:11), “Sentinella, quanto resta della notte?”.

Mi dispiace non essere mai andata prima… mi rifarò andando a vedere la rappresentazione della Passione il prossimo 14 aprile!

Since it’s still Christmas time, I’d like to write about my last day trip to Santa Maria in Silvis’ Abbey, in Sesto al Reghena (PN), where the Living Nativity Scene has been represented for the 21^st year. I’m ashamed to say that it was my first time.

Other than the Nativity Scene, in which local citizens act to represent the Palestine’s inhabitants at the time of Jesus, a recital was performed at 5 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. The title was “Watchman, what is left of the night?”, script by Father Giancarlo Stival and music by Marco Anzovino.

The Nativity Scene is well positioned in the park and inside the Abbey: I actually admire all the walks-on that stayed outside in the cold the whole afternoon to perform as fishermen, shepherds, craftsmen, etc.

The Holy Family was positioned inside the Abbey.

The performance was held in the park, perfectly visible from all the sides. The visual and sound effects well represented the dark times of the setting (which could be present times as well.

As it is written in the brochure/map, the narration refers to facts that took place in the area, through which the question asked by the prophet Isaiah (Is. 21:11), “Watchman, what is left of the night?” is asked again.

I regret not going before…but I’ll surely go see the Passion’s performance on April 14^th!

Atmosfere natalizie al mercatino di Natale di Trento/Christmas atmosphere at the Trento Christmas Market

Per rimanere in clima natalizio, in questo post scriverò dell’ultima gita fatta la scorsa domenica al Mercatino di Natale a Trento, come “aggregata” alla Banda Musicale Vadese.

Era la prima volta ai mercatini di Natale (gli ultimi quattro anni li ho passati in Cina e prima non ero particolarmente interessata).

Le 92 bancarelle del mercatino di Trento sono suddivise tra Piazza Cesare Battisti e Piazza Fiera, facilmente raggiungibili a piedi dalla stazione ferroviaria.

Ci sono varie bancarelle di prodotti artigianali locali, da oggetti in legno e vetro a prodotti cosmetici naturali locali. Immancabili le bancarelle di piatti tipici trentini come il tortèl di patate e i canederli.

Un altro elemento positivo è stata la presenza di un punto allattamento/cambio pannolini in Piazza Fiera realizzato dalla Croce Rossa locale insieme a Chicco: provvidenziale per le esigenze di neonati affamati!

Nel pomeriggio abbiamo anche fatto un giro al mercatino di Levico Terme, situato all’interno del Parco Secolare degli Asburgo, in cui erano presenti anche il “Villaggio degli Elfi”, con attività e laboratori per bambini e un’area di presentazione di un alimento diverso ogni fine settimana: domenica scorsa era il turno della patata, quindi erano esposte le diverse varietà del tubero coltivate localmente. Sempre per i bambini erano previsti anche giri in carrozze trainate da cavalli attraverso il parco.

Avendo più tempo a disposizione, avrei volentieri fatto un giro per Trento, per visitare quantomeno il Duomo e ri-visitare il Castello del Buonconsiglio, o anche per un pomeriggio di relax alle terme.

Just to continue with the Christmas mood, I would like to write about my last day trip to the Christmas Market in Trento. I took part to the trip by joining the one organized by the Banda Musicale Vadese.

It was my first time at a Christmas Market (I spent my last 4 years in China and I was not that interested before).

The 92 stalls of Trento Christmas Market are located in Piazza Cesare Battisti and Piazza Fiera, not far from the train station.

Stalls include local wood and glass crafts, natural cosmetics as well as local food from Trento, such as “tortèl di patate” (potato cake filled with cheese or mushrooms or veggies) and “canederli” (a kind of dumpling).

Another positive element that made me like the Market was the presence of a space for breastfeeding/diapers change in Piazza Fiera realized by the local Red Cross with Chicco: really opportune for the needs of hungry babies!

In the afternoon we also went the Market in Levico Terme, located inside the Park. This market includes an “Elves Village” organizing activities and workshops for children and a “thematic area” for the presentation of a different local food each week: last Sunday potato was the protagonist, so different local varieties were displayed and potato dishes were prepared. Children could also enjoy the park through a ride on carriages.

Having more time, I would have liked to have a tour in Trento, at least to visit the Dome and to re-visit the Buonconsiglio Castke, or for a relaxing afternoon at the hot springs.
