Un weekend “infernale” / An “infernal” weekend

Tra sbalzi di temperatura repentini, vento e fiori sbocciati, si potrebbe dire che la primavera è arrivata anche a Nanchino! E per “festeggiare” il suo ritorno, cosa c’è di meglio di partecipare a un pomeriggio “infernale” in giro per la città?

No, non intendo un pomeriggio bloccata in mezzo al traffico o cose del genere, nonostante l’acquazzone venuto giù verso metà pomeriggio. Parlo della terza edizione di “Inferno’s Race”, la “caccia al tesoro” di beneficenza organizzata da Italiani a Nanchino a tema dantesco lo scorso 12 aprile.

Per questa edizione, il costo di iscrizione è stato interamente devoluto a PFRANG Association e al Nanjing Orphanage and Rehabilitation Center.

Personalmente mi piace un sacco mettermi alla prova per scoprire le tappe delle varie stazioni, verificando quanto effettivamente conosca della città in cui vivo da due anni e mezzo, non solo per quanto riguarda i luoghi, ma anche il modo in cui arrivarci con i mezzi pubblici. (Durante la gara è possibile muoversi solo con i mezzi pubblici…anche a piedi, volendo, ma invece di quattro ore ce ne vorrebbero dieci!).

Il “tour” di quest’anno prevedeva vari “gironi infernali”, in cui incontrare i dannati che ci avrebbero proposto delle prove da affrontare:

- Hanzhong Men (汉中门, Hànzhōng mén),, dove si trova una delle antiche porte della città;

- Nanhu (南湖, Nánhú), un mini parco con lago…o “stagno”, come è stato definito nell’indovinello;

- Chaotiangong (朝天宫, Cháo tiāngōng), dove si trova un palazzo/museo che personalmente non ho trovato molto interessante;

- Laomendong (老门东, Lǎo mén dōng), una nuova “zona antica” piena di negozi e ristoranti;

- il Jinling Hotel (金陵饭店, Jīnlíng fàndiàn). Ringrazio chi mi ha detto che ci avevano aperto una gelateria!;

- il lago Xuanwu (玄武湖, Xuánwǔ hú), sempre presente;

- Zhujiang Road (珠江路, Zhūjiāng lù), sempre utile sapere dove acquistare pezzi di ricambio per il pc, e

- il centro sportivo di Wutai Shan (五台山, Wǔtáishān). Anche qui, ringrazio chi mi ha informato dell’apertura di una discoteca.

Un pomeriggio sicuramente diverso dal solito (e a fin di bene). La prossima volta devo solo ricordarmi di iniziare ad allenarmi per tempo, così evito di trovarmi le gambe a pezzi dopo quattro ore e mezza a camminare e correre in giro. J

It seems that spring has finally arrived in Nanjing, among sudden temperature leaps, wind and blossomed flowers! The best idea to “celebrate” the return of spring is the participation in an “infernal” afternoon around the city!

No, I don’t refer to an afternoon in a traffic jam or similar things, although a strong downpour arrived in the middle of the afternoon. I refer to the third edition of “Inferno’s Race”, a charity treasure hunt organized by Italians in Nanjing on the theme of Dante Alighieri’s “Divina Commedia” on April 12^th.

For this edition, the enrollment fees have been fully donated to PFRANG Association and to the Nanjing Orphanage and Rehabilitation Center.

I really like to challenge myself in finding the stages of the race, finding out how much I actually know of the city where I have been living in the past two years and half. It’s not only about the places that I actually know, but also on the ways to get there using public transportation. (During the race it is possible to go around using public transportation only…feet can also be used, but it would take 10 hours rather than 4!)

The “tour” of this edition included the following “infernal circles”, where we met the “damned”:

- Hanzhong Men (汉中门, Hànzhōng mén), where one of the ancient city gates is located (what is remained);

- Nanhu (南湖, Nánhú), a small park with lake…or “pond”, as it has been described in the riddle to get there;

- Chaotiangong (朝天宫, Cháo tiāngōng), where there is a palace/museum that I didn’t find much interesting;

- Laomendong (老门东, Lǎo mén dōng), a new “old area” full with shops and restaurants;

- Jinling Hotel (金陵饭店, Jīnlíng fàndiàn). I thank the person who told me about a new ice cream shop opened there;

- Xuanwu Lake (玄武湖, Xuánwǔ hú),, an evergreen location;

- Zhujiang Road (珠江路, Zhūjiāng lù), a place that it’s useful to know if you need to fix your computer; and

- Wutai Shan sports center (五台山, Wǔtáishān). I thank again the person that told me about the opening of a new club there.

It has been an afternoon different from the usual ones, and it has been for charity! Next time I just have to remember to start some training in advance, so that I don’t find myself with my legs destroyed after four hours and half walking and running around the city. J
